Druk Path Trek
Bhutan Druk Path Trek is one of the most popular treks in Bhutan. The short and scenic trek with some great views and beautiful lakes en route is known as Druk Path Trek. The trek leads up to above 4,000m altitudes, is not too strenuous as walking distances between the camps which are not too long for trekkers. This is a short six days trek leading from Paro to Thimphu and vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains that separates the two valleys.
Although the route is sparsely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fish and the area is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests, which bloom in May. In the clear weather of late autumn and winter there are great views of the Himalayas. Besides the lakes and the Himalayas, the route of the trek includes the Phadjoding Monastery that is one of the highlights of this trek.
Snowy Horizon with the association of its partner organization of Bhutan offers the most essential and easy trekking package in Bhutan. This trek is usually recommended to operate from late February to June and from September to December during the year.
"When our group of 12 friends including 9 doctors decided to visit Tibet, we were lucky to find the 'Snowy Horizon Treks & Expeditions' travel agency while searching the internet. We visited Tibet - Kailas, Mansarovar, Lhasa & Everest Basecamp in September 2011 through this agency and from our experience, we can whole-heartedly recommend them for anyone planning a trip or trek in Nepal or Tibet."
